OAKLAND KITCHEN REMODEL
-
The clients cooked and entertained quite often in the existing galley kitchen. They required more storage and food-prep space, modern appliances and an in-kitchen seating area in the very small space. Green / sustainable solutions and materials were a priority.
-
No additional square footage was possible with the existing footprint, so interior space had to be maximized. A vaulted ceiling and large sky-light were added to give the appearance of spaciousness. Sustainable / green features include: custom bamboo cabinets, PaperStone countertops and backsplashes, and a repaired and refinished oak floor. The partition wall to the downstairs was replaced with a glass wall feature, and a countertop seating area with stools. Large mirrors on the end wall complete the effect of a greatly expanded and light-filled space.
